Let me get this straight.

Let me get this straight. People are making a HUGE fucking deal out of Lindsay Lohan's 21st birthday? While we were in Vegas, we stopped by Ceasar's Palace and saw this gigantic sign up in front of "Pure", their nightclub. Check this out, the bitch is in REHAB right now, correct? Svedka Vodka is sponsoring this shindig, and they are saying it should be one of the best parties ever. Oh yeah, she is now a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, despite not yet being legally old enough to drink... well until July 2nd that is.

Here is an actual quote from Lindsay herself: “I’m going to milk it,” she said. “It’s a big birthday and I think it’s been a long time in coming for my friends in L.A. who have clubs … (soon they won’t) have to worry about getting in trouble because I’m underage.”

WTF? Can someone explain this to me please?

Hmm.
On LL (and many other such people): They are a big part of whats wrong with the direction our country is going. Its not THEM that worries me. Few of us would have the ability to stand up to the temptations they face every hour. Its the fact that the American people go along with it, and tell them that they are that special, and keep paying them to act like this , THAT disturbs me.
We have so MANY celebrities, and they make TON more money than celebs used to, but they're somehow smaller nowadays. I don't know if anyone walks among them today who is the real heir and rival to the fame of Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presely, The Beatles, and so on. We've got more of these red carpetites, but they're value as such is of course lessened. They make more money but have less talent and charisma. This celeb-inflation a waste of resources and it is damaging to the minds of the young to see this sort of thing, and see the rest of us tolerating it.
I wish the "Moral Moajority" would spend its resources attacking the culture of celeb worship (idolatry) at least as much as it does attacking Gay Rights.
Its so sad. These million and billionaires are soaking up the wealth of a Nation and offering virtually nothing in return. "Don't worry if you can't afford to have kids even though you're well educated and working, you can just keep up to date on Tom & Katy's baby instead! You don't need to worry about ever ebing able to afford your own home, just LOOK at this gorgeous mansion a total stranger spends a fraction of their year in!" seems to be the real lifestyle people are adopting.
Religion is NOT and NEVER WAS the oppiate of the masses. Its inspired too many uprisings for that. If religion IS opium, then Mass Media goes way beyond heroin. Its like a wire giving current directly to the pleasure center of the brain.
Television is the oppiate of the masses.
